Description
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infrastructure Solutioning Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in a banking environment, working on solutioning, or from a system integrator or distributor with pre-sales or solutioning experience. The primary technical requirement for this role is a strong familiarity with network security technologies from leading vendors, including cloud-based solutions and networking technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Solutioning: Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in technical solutioning, providing expert guidance and support.
- Project Management: Assume the role of Solutioning Project Manager for projects where you are not the SME, ensuring successful project execution.
- Process Adherence: Assist requestors in running solutioning projects in accordance with the bank’s processes, leading to business paper sign-off.
- Standards Compliance: Ensure that all designs and solutions adhere to the bank’s standards and guidelines.
- Transition Support: Facilitate the transition from solutioning to project delivery, ensuring a smooth handover.
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership, working collaboratively with other SMEs to develop comprehensive solutions based on the requirements provided.
- Timely Delivery: Demonstrate the ability to work within tight timelines, ensuring projects are completed on schedule.
- RFP Processes: Collaborate with the procurement department to drive Request for Proposals (RFP) processes, ensuring that technical requirements are clearly defined and met.
Qualifications
Technical Requirements:
- Cloud Platforms:
- Proficiency in major cloud service providers (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Experience with cloud services such as compute, storage, networking, and security.
- Virtualization Technologies:
- Strong knowledge of virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware vSphere, Huawei DCS, Microsoft Hyper-V, KVM).
- Experience in managing and optimizing virtual environments.
- Storage Solutions:
- Familiarity with various storage architectures (e.g., SAN, NAS, object storage).
- Understanding of data management, replication, and backup strategies in hybrid environments.
- Understand storage network (SAN) technologies such as NVMe over Fabrics (NVMe-oF) or RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE).
- Backup and Disaster Recovery:
o Experience with backup solutions and disaster recovery planning (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik, Azure Site Recovery).
o Knowledge of data protection strategies in hybrid cloud environments.
- Networking:
o Understanding of networking concepts, including VPNs, firewalls, load balancers, and network security.
o Experience with hybrid networking solutions that connect on-premises infrastructure with cloud environments.
- Automation and Orchestration:
o Familiarity with automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation).
o Experience in deploying and managing infrastructure as code (IaC) in hybrid environments.
- Security and Compliance:
o Knowledge of security best practices for hybrid IT environments, including identity and access management (IAM).
o Understanding of compliance requirements and frameworks relevant to cloud and on-premises solutions.
- Monitoring and Performance Management:
o Experience with monitoring tools and practices for hybrid environments (e.g., Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch, Nagios).
o Ability to analyze performance metrics and optimize resource utilization.
- Containerization and Microservices (Optional):
o Familiarity with container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and their role in hybrid IT solutions.
o Understanding of microservices architecture and its deployment in cloud environments.
- Scripting and Programming Skills:
o Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation and integration tasks.
- Vendor-Specific Certifications:
- Certifications from vendors like AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, VMware Certified Professional etc
- Hands-On Experience: Practical experience with configuring, managing, and troubleshooting the aforementioned technologies.
- Continuous Learning: Staying updated with the latest advancements in Hybrid IT technologies.
