Gain a critical understanding of how a major financial institution drives performance and makes strategic decisions. As a Business Planning & Analysis – Group Lifestyle Financing (BP&A-GLF) Intern, you’ll be at the heart of tracking, analyzing, and reporting on the performance of our key consumer lending businesses – acquiring, cards, and unsecured loans.

How you succeed

Success in this role requires a detail-oriented mindset and a proactive approach to data analysis. You’ll need to be comfortable working with numbers, identifying trends, and communicating your findings clearly. A willingness to learn, embrace new technologies, and contribute to process improvements will be key.

What you do

You’ll be directly involved in:

  • Preparing monthly performance reports for the acquiring, cards, and unsecured loan businesses.
  • Tracking and reporting key performance indicators, such as card spend and loan volumes.
  • Assisting with month-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries and supporting documentation.
  • Participating in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for the Cards Replatform project, focusing on Merchant Acquiring and Card Issuing modules.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve existing processes through automation and/or Power BI projects.

Who you are

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree.
  • Majoring in Finance, Accountancy, or Business.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Inquisitive and passionate about problem-solving.
  • Proactive and willing to take initiative.
  • Knowledge of Power BI, QlikView, or programming languages is an advantage.

Learning Objectives

This internship will provide you with:

  • A strong understanding of business performance management principles.
  • Experience in financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting.
  • Exposure to month-end closing processes and accounting principles.
  • Practical skills in data visualization and automation tools (Power BI).
  • An understanding of large-scale technology projects and UAT processes.
