Why Join

As a Trading Intern in Emissions Trading, you’ll be part of a dynamic team that drives the bank’s trading and risk management capabilities. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your analytical and quantitative skills and contribute to the growth of the bank’s emissions trading business.

How you succeed

To excel in this role, you’ll need to be a detail-oriented and analytical individual, able to adapt to changing priorities, and have a strong quantitative mindset. You’ll work closely with the Emissions Trading team to track new methodologies, maintain historical data, and build models to assess demand for clients. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts to stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams will be crucial in driving results.

What you do

Your responsibilities will include:

• Methodology Tracking: keep track of new methodologies published by Verra/Gold Standard and all major registries

• Historical Data Maintenance: maintain a worksheet with all historical retirement data company-wise, volume-wise, vintage-wise to assess demand for clients

• Project Tracking: maintain a worksheet for all projects and rating with live prices every week

• Issuance Tracking: maintain a worksheet with all historical and new issuances from projects

• Model Development: build in all the reforms and regulations within the model to forecast demand

• Market Analysis: follow country-wise development of voluntary carbon credits market and forecast demand based on these developments

• Correlation Analysis: run correlations between paper and physical market prices to identify trends and insights

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g. economics, finance, mathematics)

• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with strong attention to detail

• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to stakeholders

• Collaborative mindset and ability to work with cross-functional teams

• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
