Internship: Group Finance, Group Tax Advisory [December 2024 – June 2025]  (240001B3)

Description

 

Job Description 1: 

  • Assist in preparing the bank’s corporate tax schedules, monthly tax computations, and Estimated Chargeable Income (ECI) preparation.
  • Assist in collecting supporting documents for the bank’s tax return, preparing Related Party Transaction (RPT) forms and collating Withholding Tax (WHT) receipts.
  • Work with the team on tax processes improvement initiatives. This includes updating procedural manual and/or leveraging IT automation tools for tax processes simplification and maintain tax central repository.

Job Description 2: 

  • Assist in carrying out Tax Control Testing for Business Units (BUs) and Support Units (SUs) with a view to strengthening tax controls in their business processes as part of the bank’s Tax Governance initiatives. The involvement includes:
  • Assist in preparing working papers for tax control testing, including planning, participating in meetings/interviews with different functions involved in the process.
  • Assist in gather information, collect samples, sample testing to assess the effectiveness of tax controls and follow up on identified issues and corrective actions taken by the BUs and SUs.
  • Assist in the preparation of the OCBC Group Local File and facilitate the execution of Service Level Agreements.
  • Assist in the preparation of the OCBC Group Master File
  • Assist in the intra-group billing to OCBC subsidiaries and branches.
  • Assist in reviewing intra-group GL lines and reconciliations for intra-group reporting.

Job Description 3: 

  • Assist in updating standard operating guides.
  • Liaise with subsidiaries and branches to collate data required at group.
  • Assist in the monthly closing work including, review and analysis monthly current tax and deferred tax schedules, draft process map and update process guides etc.
  • Assist in the research, analysis and drafting of replies to ad-hoc transactional tax queries.
  • Assist in the initial review and documenting of the tax comments for the New Product Approvals Process (NPAP).
  • Assist in the ad-hoc tax compliance matters as required.

 

Qualifications

 

Job Requirements:

  • Completed Taxation module preferred
  • Power BI/ Power Query/ Excel VBA – Macros (added advantage)
