JOB SUMMARY
- The role holder is responsible for supporting the Head of Strategy & Talent (S&T) Process Excellence through driving operational excellence across the S&T function. The role holder will also work with Global Process Owners (GPOs) and Stakeholders to standardise and simplify processes and bring an end-user mindset to design/documentation, in line with process design standards
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be familiar with the Bank’s agenda and priorities (e.g. ‘Stands’), S&T People Strategy, S&T transformation initiatives and S&T Process Universe to:
- Recognise how S&T operates, how different S&T processes fit together and ensure a client lens is embedded in S&T processes, aligning to the S&T Process Universe taxonomy.
- Provide thought leadership around operational excellence in S&T, keeping customer requirements and experiences at the heart of the enhancements.
- Positively influence S&T GPOs to implement BAU improvements though standardising, simplifying and streamlining of S&T processes.
- Provide Operational Excellence expertise (and challenge) for large S&T transformation programmes to aide, guide and contribute to the deliverables, scope, and process design to influence customer focused outcomes.
- Understand the current state and be aware of planned upcoming changes to spot opportunities to add value to the business through process design and/or governance.
- Work with colleagues to ensure a pathway to readiness for S&T processes impacted by medium to long term change transformations, focused on ensuring:
- Relevant change roadmaps and project plans take build in the necessary timelines for process review, documentation and risk reviews.
- Analysis of upstream and downstream impacts have been performed for process changes, and any impacts communicated timely and to the relevant stakeholders.
- Any process changes comply with the Bank’s policies and standards, values, conduct expectations, and any laws and regulatory requirements where the Bank operates.
- Be familiar with the content of the S&T Process Universe and the details of the process documentation (ARIS process maps).
- Deliver the biennial process review for each of the supported GPO areas in a timely manner, consulting GPOs, relevant Centre of Excellence teams and S&T Operations teams to review processes to ensure they reflect the activities executed on the group and take any upcoming changes to the team’s product strategy or approach which would influence their processes.
- Provide thought leadership and coaching to the Process Modelling team to ensure ARIS process maps reflect current processes in a clear and connected manner and allows stakeholders to easily understand the business objectives and desired outcomes of the process and customer journey.
- Work with colleagues to ensure quality of process documentations meets the S&T process modelling standards and conventions to improve the ways of working as needed.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Our Ideal Candidate
• 10+ years’ experience in process design and process management, producing high quality process maps and other associated documents. Expert user of the ARIS10 business process management platform.
• Process and system knowledge: Must have experience designing customer processes for large organisations, enabled by technology. Experience with S&T processes and good technical appreciation and understanding of service management applications would be useful.
• Communication: Strong communication skills – oral, written and presentation with an ability to engage and support a variety of stakeholder levels including management.
• Operations Experience: Experience of managing operations, multitasking and process reengineering within large, complex, rapidly changing and dynamic environments, whilst often under pressure.
• Results Orientated: Outcome focussed with excellent problem-solving abilities whilst exercising good judgement.
• Technical Appreciation: Good technical appreciation and experience of platform management, with at least a solid conceptual understanding of functionality, architecture, performance / production management.
• Strategic: Ability to prioritise issues, seeing the ‘big picture’ and thinking conceptually, whilst simultaneously having very close attention to detail.
