Key Responsibilities
- Awareness and understanding of Collections strategy framework. Provide support in aligning strategy paper with regulatory and policy requirements.
- Handle projects/ initiatives as and when assigned.
- To cover other team member’s duties as and when required
- Pro-actively participate, provide feedback and suggestion to improve workflow, processes and increase work efficiency.
- Manage payments to Credit Counselling Singapore and External Collection Agency, submission of accruals and approval of financial control substantiation balances reconciliation.
- Co-ordinating and consolidation of MIS for collections decks on weekly and monthly frequency.
- To assist in the smooth implementation of Operational Risk processes, procedures and policies.
- Ensure client communication is aligned and reviewed by Corporate Affairs.
- Provide support in effective utilization of resources with an objective of minimizing credit losses, maximizing recovery and managing costs.
- Provide support in setting and monitoring job descriptions and objectives for Collections.
- To review and manage an effective Incentive program to enhance the performance of the team without impacting the budgeted Cost. Also, to ensure that all possibilities of ambiguities or shortcomings in this initiative are over managed with appropriate controls in place.
- Cost and capacity management plan for the unit and productivity initiatives are managed in accordance with defined standards.
- Strict adherence of code of conduct, regulatory, governance, legal & compliance guidelines.
- Work with various stakeholders to identify, assess, monitor, control and mitigate risks relating to regulatory breaches.
- Review monthly CST results for Collections. Put in place action plans to mitigate exceptions and ensure closure of any policy, process gaps and exceptions identified.
- Appointed as Record Maker for Country Collections and Recoveries process.
- Investigate all suspected data privacy breaches / leakages.
- To ensure compliance with established Group Policies and agreed standards of Operational Risk (OR) processes, procedures and policies. All internal documents and notes are kept current and relevant. (ie gap analysis, DOIs etc).
- To develop and document process/ DOIs and policies for Collections and Recoveries.
- To ensure support and compliance with respect to Audit Requirements.
- Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
- Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
- Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
Our Ideal Candidate
Skills & Experience
- 5+ Years of experience in Banking domain
- Working experience in Governance, process and Policies
- Strong understanding of regulations in Singapore
- Project Management Experience
Qualifications:
- Education – Diploma or relevant degree in any fields (banking related will be preferred)
