The incumbent will drive positive media coverage as well as promote and protect reputation, taking an organised, detail-oriented and energetic approach. The ideal candidate should have a passion for storytelling and writing, and preferably have a good understanding of the telecom, media and technology industries or else, a strong aptitude for acquiring new domain knowledge.

 

Make an Impact by:

 

  • Work with a team of communications professionals to protect and enhance the reputation of Singtel.
  • Drive positive coverage across a broad range of media, including consumer, business and trade publications and digital, social platforms.
  • Manage the creation of press and internal communications materials.
  • Organise press briefings, media sessions, events, prepare briefing materials.
  • Provide counsel to cross-functional partners in policy, legal, marketing etc. within the company on media engagement and crisis management.
  • Monitor traditional and online media and take appropriate steps to rectify negative publicity and impact.
  • Proactively identify, monitor and manage crises and issues and develop crisis management communication plans in collaboration with business units.

 

 

Skills for Success: 

 

  • A degree from a recognised university, preferably specialising in Mass Communications/Public Relations/Business.
  • Possess 5 – 8 years of relevant experience in corporate communications, media relations and issues management (preferably in a publicly listed company).
  • Writing and editing skills including speech writing. Must have ability and passion for writing.
  • Ability to demonstrate a successful track record in the following areas:
    • Lead projects to achieve stipulated objectives and goals
    • Self-starter who possesses strong planning and organisational skills, very resourceful
    • Able to produce clear, factual and relevant information in written form
    • Strengths in relationship management and ability to influence peers, subordinates, seniors and external media.
    • Good project skills
    • Technology and net-savvy, proficient in Microsoft Office applications
