As part of the Group Tax Advisory team in OCBC, you’ll play a critical role in helping the Bank navigate the complexities of tax laws and regulations. You’ll work closely with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with tax regulations and provide expert advice on tax planning strategies. It’s a challenging and rewarding role that requires a unique blend of technical expertise and business acumen.

How you succeed
To succeed in this role, you’ll need to stay up-to-date on the latest tax laws and regulations, and be able to apply that knowledge to complex business scenarios. You’ll work closely with Business to understand their needs and objectives, and develop tailored tax solutions that meet their needs. You’ll also need to collaborate with other teams within the bank, such as audit and risk management, to ensure that the Bank is in compliance with all relevant regulations.

What you do

Transfer Pricing

  • Oversee and strengthen the tax governance function in the Group, including managing public disclosures such as public Country-by-Country Reporting (“CbCR”) disclosure, policy setting, etc

  • Manage the Group’s annual CbCR for submission to tax authority and carry out related data analysis for tax and transfer pricing risk management

  • Manage the CbCR module in the Group’s tax reporting system

  • Assist in the development and roll out of new transfer pricing policies for the Group

  • Assist Business and OCBC entities in their transfer pricing related queries and provide solutions that are commercially viable

  • Assist in the preparation of transfer pricing documentation including service level agreements for related party transactions

Business Partnering

  • Familiarize with business transactions so as to ensure strong tax and transfer pricing governance

  • Perform role of dedicated Tax Relationship Manager to designated Business/Support Units and OCBC entities

You will be part of the Transfer Pricing team in OCBC Group Tax Advisory.

Who you are

  • Good degree in Accountancy, Business or Finance and/ or a member of a recognised tax practitioner association

  • Minimum 4 years of tax experience in an established accounting firm and/or in-house tax function in a financial institution

  • Prior experience in handling tax technology and system implementation will be a plus

  • Possess strong tax research skills and able to provide practical solutions in commercial environment

  • A self-starter, independent and motivated staff who is comfortable dealing with senior Businesspeople
