DESCRIPTION

Multi-site Safety Specialist will be responsible for
WHS function across three operational sites and will partner with Operations team at fulfillment centers to implement safety improvements . Successful candidate will:
– Be able to lead WHS risk assessments, provide guidance to the stakeholders on risk levels and acceptable risk controls; lead incident investigations and guide the team to establish sustainable and effective corrective and preventive measures.
– Proactively identify safety risks on the operational environment and work with stakeholders on risk mitigation.
– Implement Amazon WHSMS procedures and set up structured approach to address the internal and external compliance requirements.
– Be proactive in prioritizing the tasks and adaptable to frequent changes in the priorities basis stakeholders’ expectations and standard work expectations.
– Provide clear communications on safety processes, mechanisms and rules to the stakeholders.
– Be able to contribute through safety inputs in complex projects by clear risk mitigation planning and establishing sustainable processes for safe execution and implementation of changes.
– Be proactive in WHS related documentation and record keeping.
– Adaptive to the technical and digital tools for functional efficiency.
– Review effectiveness of WHS mechanisms and processes at a set frequency, initiate and own changes as necessary
– Demonstrate high levels of functional competencies, knowledge and understanding of industry best safety practices, applicable regulatory requirements and ability to apply them in our business scenarios.
– Be a team player and great at managing stakeholders with influencing skills
– Be well versed with safety risk mitigations in logistics and warehousing industries.
– Well versed with ergonomics risk assessments and mitigation measures
– Demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the stakeholders, inspire change through diving deep, providing comprehensive risk assessments and WHS data analysis.
– Instruct and train stakeholders and Operations Leaders on Amazon WHS procedures and assist the site teams in incorporating our WHS standards at their sites.
– Be responsible for daily, weekly and monthly site safety inspections, provide expert inputs on WHS trainings, inductions and process map visuals.
– Track safety trends and provide insights to the leadership on learning, key focus areas and actions planning.
– Lead the implementation of WHS programs and procedures in Singapore.
– Measure sites’ performance against published requirements in WHS policies. For all deficiencies, identify a plan for the site to implement and fix all identified deficiencies.
– Well versed to work in highly metricized portfolio within WHS
– Perform site WHS inspections to identify all non-compliant equipment and/or processes at the site. Implement solutions to eliminate exposure to these risks and prevent injury across sites.
– Audit record-keeping practices and Global WHS Database entries to be aligned with Global WHS standards and local regulations.
– Analyses the workplace organization and Associate behaviors to ensure that training, auditing and scoring methods are accurate and consistent.
– Lead joint safety committees
– Implement global WHS programs, initiatives and network actions at Singapore sites
– Lead incident investigations and derive sustainable corrective action plans
– be available to provide WHS support for expansion projects within Singapore
– Liaise with WSH regulatory authorities as per internal guidelines, as and when requires.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental, or equivalent
– 6+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations experience
– Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications and the use of pivot tables and the development of charts and graphics
– Experience implementing EHS procedures and process improvement in an operational environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Singapore Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer or Equivalent qualification
– Experience in managing WSH compliance in fulfillment center / warehouse operations / manufacturing industries
– Fair understanding of Ergonomics and Industrial Hygiene with application of these principles in work environment
– Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction and strategy.
