DESCRIPTION
Multi-site WHS Manager will be responsible for partnering with Operations Teams in Fulfillment Centers to implement company WHS policies and ensure compliance to all applicable local and regional regulations. By leveraging lean principles and risk assessments, you will lead improvement in safety culture and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce safety, occupational health and ergonomic risks in our processes to ensure a safe and healthful working environment. A successful WHS Multi-site manager will demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the stakeholders inspire change through providing comprehensive risk assessments and WHS data analysis.
The Multi-site WHS Manager must be an effective communicator and send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing. You will instruct and train stakeholders and Operations Leaders in Amazon WHS policies and assist the site teams in incorporating our WHS standards at their sites. You will proactively work with the stakeholders to identify and address safety issues, internal and external compliance requirements and imbibe best industry practices into our standards to continuously improve the WHS landscape. You will be required to operationalize Global and Regional WHS program at site and country level and establish procedures needed to support its implementation.
Multi-site WHS Manager will possess excellent WHS program knowledge as well as Workplace Safety and ergonomic knowledge and be able demonstrate this expertise when working with stakeholders. You will be responsible for daily, weekly and monthly site safety inspections, provide expert inputs on WHS trainings, inductions and process map visuals.
Responsibilities:
– Possess a thorough understanding of local/regional regulations and company policy
– Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable Amazon WHS Policies and Standards.
– Lead the implementation of WHS programs and procedures in Singapore.
– Measure sites’ performance against published requirements in WHS policies. For all deficiencies, identify a plan for the site to implement and fix all identified deficiencies.
– Deliver on-time and quality projects to Operations.
– Analyze WHS metrics and review incident weekly and monthly incident trends to discover trends to rationalize the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where the WHS risk is highest.
– Perform frequent site WHS audits to identify all non-compliance equipment and/or processes at the site. Implement solutions to eliminate exposure to these risks and prevent injury across sites.
– Audit record-keeping practices and Global WHS Database entries to be aligned with Global WHS standards and local regulations.
– Audit the workplace organization and Associate behaviors to ensure that training, auditing and scoring methods are accurate and consistent.
– Maintain communication with leaders and associates on WHS program improvement opportunities, progress status and resolution against these suggestions. Lead and mentor leaders and associates in WHS competencies.
– Build the relationship with various businesses and global safety teams.
– Ensure site leadership and associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy. Audit the quality, delivery (including qualifications of the trainer), and effectiveness of all required WHS trainings.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental, or equivalent
– 6+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations experience
– Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications and the use of pivot tables and the development of charts and graphics
– Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment
– 4+ years of experience in managing a team of minimum two direct reports.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Singapore Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer or Equivalent qualification
– Experience in managing WSH compliances in fulfillment center / warehouse operations / manufacturing industries
– Fair understanding of Ergonomics and Industrial Hygiene with application of these principles in work environment
– Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction and strategy.
