Amazon is seeking a passionate and sustainability-focused Intern to join our Sustainable Procurement team in Singapore. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to AWS’s commitment to sustainable practices across our supply chain operations in APJC. Working with our Data Centre infrastructure teams, you’ll help ensure our procurement practices align with environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and supplier diversity while maintaining Amazon supply chain standards.
Key job responsibilities
Key Focus Areas:
• Environmental Impact – Decarbonization & Circular Economy Initiatives
• Social & Economic Impact – Supplier diversity and Local and Small and medium business initiatives
• Supply Chain Standards Compliance – safe and healthy working conditions, respect for labor and human rights, environmental protection, and ethical business conduct
Day to day tasks include:
• Supporting supplier sustainability assessments focusing on sustainability metrics
• Tracking and analysing supplier performance and reporting on environmental, social and economic initiatives in our supply chain
• Assisting in program implementation
• Supporting sustainable vendor selection and evaluation processes
• Assisting in sustainable procurement strategy development

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Penultimate year student working towards a Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Environmental Science, Sustainable Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field)
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills and Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
• Demonstrated interest in sustainability and responsible business practices
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Environmental and Social Impact Expertise: Understanding of basic environmental and social impact concepts
Knowledge of ESG principles and reporting frameworks
Familiarity with circular economy concepts
Awareness of international environmental regulations and standards
– Sustainable Procurement and Supply Chain Management:
Understanding of sustainable procurement practices and standards
Knowledge of supplier diversity programs and social impact assessment
Interest in innovative sustainable solutions for supply chain operations
– Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Focus:
Understanding of DEI principles
Experience with sustainability tracking tools or relevant software
