SAP Project Director

The SAP Project Director is responsible for overseeing, managing, and implementing multiple IT projects with quality, within scope, and ensuring deliverables are on time while conforming to processes and standards that meet customer requirements.

What will you do?

Project Delivery

  • Review the project lifecycle (initiation, plan, execution, completion).
  • Review and design project schedules, quality plans, budgets, and communication and risk management plans.
  • Manage issues arising out of scope definition and subsequent disputes that impact scope, schedule, and cost.
  • Manage issues arising from the integration of various components of the project, including hardware, software installation, testing, business process review, redesign, application development, migration, and data conversion.
  • Oversee the implementation of the project with regard to schedules, budget, manpower, and quality.
  • Resolve project overrun issues with Senior Management.
  • Monitor and report on project management progress.
  • Manage resources by mobilising them across teams during different periods to maximise productivity or minimise wastage.

Customer/Vendor Management

  • Effectively engage stakeholders in project decisions and execution.
  • Build long-term customer relationships by anticipating and exceeding customer expectations.
  • Negotiate with customers on change control mechanisms to meet schedules and prioritise changes based on business needs.
  • Manage and subcontractors.

Business Development

  • Proactively identify opportunities for further expansion or improvement of services delivered to the customer and liaise with the Account Manager(s) for development of those opportunities.
  • Be involved in pre-sale activities, leading key opportunities where needed.

Team Management

  • Provide leadership to the project team to ensure that proposals/enhancements are fully analysed and evaluated for benefits and cost.
  • Provide the project team with accurate information about business needs and priorities as well as details about business systems.
  • Participate in leadership activities and provide performance feedback and developmental coaching.
  • Monitor and improve team performance, conduct team building, and provide leadership, coaching, and performance management.

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Typically 12 years of SAP project management experience, with a minimum of 18 years of experience in IT services.
  • Experience in Singapore Public Sector SAP projects.
  • Self-motivated with a positive “can-do” attitude, creative with excellent presentation, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, including strong persuasive techniques.
  • Able to lead, develop, and maintain respectful and trusting relationships.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Able to travel as required.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree.
