Singtel x Singapore Institute of Technology have embarked on a Work-Study Programme (WSP) launched in Feb 2023. The WSP is called “The Catalyst Programme” which is a structured on-the-job (OJT) development WSP that allows Polytechnic Diploma holders to secure a full-time position with Singtel while pursuing a university honours degree in Infrastructure and Systems Engineering. This programme is open to Singtel’s internal employees as well as external polytechnic diploma holders preferably from the ICT domain. Non-ICT diploma holders are encouraged to apply as well. In line with building capability in Singapore ICT sector this program will develop & groom talent over a 3-year period completing micro-credentials for each module which eventually stack-up to an honours degree in Infrastructure and Systems Engineering. Candidates will be offered a specific role as the one shared below. Are you ready for this challenge? 

 

Make an Impact by

  • Conduct lab and field tests for 5G, 4G, and cellular IoT software upgrades prior to nationwide deployment, ensuring timely and seamless RAN software upgrades.
  • Conduct evaluation and testing of new network features and parameters in both lab and field environments to continuously improve customer experience and optimize network capacity.
  • Monitor radio performance statistics to promptly identify and address issues resulting from software upgrades and feature deployments.
  • Determine radio performance KPI and KQI formulas to measure network performance accurately and reliably.
  • Generate regular and ad-hoc radio performance statistics report to update on state of network to manager and other leaders in the department.
  • Develop scripts to automate routine tasks including query of radio statistics from UPM databases, generation of daily/weekly statistics reports and network configuration consistency checks leading to workload reduction.
  • Troubleshoot complex radio issues leading to identification of root cause to ensure rapid resolution of network problems.
  • Evaluate radio network test tools including new tools and upgrades, to ensure their capabilities, stability, and suitability before integrating them into daily testing activities.
  • Work closely with network supplier and team members to ensure that all network KPIs are met and maintain Singtel’s best performing network position in the market. 

 

Skills for Success

  • A completed diploma from a reputable Polytechnic.
  • Experience in 5G, 4G and Cellular IoT radio network testing, troubleshooting and performance statistics analysis.
  • Understanding of 5G, 4G and Cellular IoT radio network standards and functionality.
  • Problem analysis and troubleshooting capability.
  • Familiar with statistical concepts and data structures.
  • Writing and reporting skills.
  • Quick and curious learner.
  • Effective individual contributor and team member.
  • Ability to work with uncertainty and in a rapidly changing technology landscape.
  • Effective communicator and presenter.
