The role reports to the Senior Director – Group Strategy, Engineering, and Innovation (GSEI) / Network Transmission.
The Senior Engineer contributes to the definition and evolution of Singtel Group’s IP Transport architecture, supporting the development of standards, roadmaps, and reference designs. The role works closely with domain architects, OpCos, and vendors to ensure architectural alignment, technical soundness, and smooth implementation across a multi-vendor environment.
The role focuses on both architectural design and practical implementation considerations, supporting the migration from legacy transport networks toward modern IP architectures, including Segment Routing (SR-MPLS / SRv6), EVPN, automation, and controller-based networking models. The role also drives the evolution of Transport Networks as an Autonomous Domain within the Group’s Autonomous Networks (AN) architecture, enabling higher levels of automation, closed-loop assurance, and domain intelligence aligned with AN maturity target.
Make an Impact by
IP Transport Architecture & Design
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the Group IP Transport architecture principles and 3–5 year roadmap.
- Develop detailed high-level designs (HLD) aligned with Group reference architectures.
- Support the evolution toward Segment Routing, EVPN-based architectures, traffic engineering, and automation-enabled operational models.
- Ensure designs meet carrier-grade requirements for scalability, resiliency, security, and operational simplicity.
- Work closely with Transmission, Optical, Core, and Access teams to ensure cross-domain design alignment.
Technology Evaluation & Implementation Support
- Evaluate emerging IP technologies including SRv6 enhancements, EVPN use cases, network disaggregation, telemetry, and automation frameworks.
- Participate in proof-of-concept (PoC) activities, lab validations, and interoperability testing across multi-vendor environments.
- Produce technical evaluation reports, design recommendations, and migration strategies.
- Support standardization and documentation of best practices across OpCos.
OpCo Collaboration & Advisory
- Work with OpCos to review existing IP Transport designs and provide technical recommendations aligned to the Group future-state architecture (FSA).
- Support OpCos during architecture reviews, solution design discussions, and vendor evaluations.
- Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions and workshops to promote engineering best practices and consistent design approaches.
Governance & Documentation
- Support architecture governance processes through structured design reviews and compliance checks.
