The incumbent will be tasked to lead the company’s communications efforts. He/ she should demonstrate the ability to drive positive media coverage, manage media relations and issues and take an organised, detail-oriented and energetic approach. The ideal candidate should preferably have a good understanding of the telecom, media and technology industries or else, a strong aptitude for acquiring new domain knowledge.
The role is Singapore-based and will report to the VP of Group Corporate Affairs and Investor Relations.
Make an Impact by
- Develop and execute communications plans and initiatives to protect and enhance the reputation of Singtel.
- Drive positive coverage across a broad range of media, including consumer, business and trade publications and digital, social platforms.
- Shape and manage the development of high quality, multi-format content for various platforms.
- Organise press briefings, media events, prepare briefing materials.
- Provide counsel to senior management and cross-functional partners on announcements and thought leadership.
- Lead the management and monitoring of traditional and online media and take appropriate steps to rectify negative publicity and impact.
- Proactively identify, monitor and manage crises and issues and develop crisis management communication plans in collaboration with business units.
- Track outcomes to determine the results and value and use the data to improve outreach and visibility.
Skills for Succes
- A degree from a recognised university, preferably specialising in Mass Communications/Public Relations/Business.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in Corporate Communications (preferably in a publicly listed company)
- Experience working with senior management team and ability to translate organisational goals into action and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Writing and editing skills including speech writing. Must have ability and passion for writing
- Excellent people skills and command of written and spoken English
- Resourceful self-starter with collaborative mindset
- Strong planning and organisational skills.
- Ability to demonstrate a successful track record in the following areas:
a. Leading projects to achieve stipulated objectives and goals
b. Developing and executing strategic communications plans that drive awareness and engagement
c. Producing clear, factual and relevant messages on technical topics
d. Managing and developing a high performing team of communicators.
e. Strong stakeholder management skills, with ability to influence diverse partners and external media
f. Business and marketing acumen and numerically inclined. Good project and budget management skills
g. Technology and digitally savvy, proficient in Microsoft Office applications
