JOB SUMMARY

This is a stress testing role that sits within Group FP&A. Stress testing is a comprehensive process that evaluates the capital adequacy and liquidity position of a bank under a severe but plausible stress scenario. Stress testing at the group level covers important regulatory exercises annually such as Group ICAAP and the BoE Stress Test as well as adhoc management stress tests. The coverage of the stress test includes balance sheet, P&L and capital requirements.    

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Role and responsibility include but not limited to the following:
•    Enterprise Stress Testing and scenario analysis
•    Engagement with Product Heads and CFO team to review stress test results and provide advisory on the impact of stress for the respective products and segments
•    Product coverage includes CIB and WRB
•    Drive Business Volumes and Margins (BVM) projections covering Asset and Liability Balances, Off-Balance Sheet, Interest Income, Interest Expense, Net Interest Income and Non Interest Income
•    Socialise results with stakeholders through a robust review and challenge process
•    Analyse and present results for forums and committees (Stress Testing Forum, Group Stress Testing Forum, Group Risk Committee)
•    Support data providers on data quality issues and enhancement of data granularity
•    Support model owner(s) on model life cycle activities (change management, development, testing, validation, monitoring, etc)

Regulatory & Business Conduct

•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
•    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
•    Lead to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles

 

Our Ideal Candidate

•    10+ years’ of experience in stress testing, FP&A, capital planning and financial forecasting within the banking sector

•    Degree holder in Finance, Maths, Engineering or similar field

 

Role Specific Technical Competencies

•    Knowledge on accounting, balance sheet and P&L
•    Knowledge on banking products
•    Knowledge on Credit Risk, IFRS9 and Basel IRB  
•    Excel 
•    Critical Thinking and Analytical skills
•    Communication and Presentation skills
