Job Summary
We are seeking a talented individual to join as the Senior Manager WRB Risk Management in Singapore. In this role, you will join a commercially minded team of risk management professionals who drive sustainable returns while diligently managing business risks. As a senior team member, you will work closely with the CRM Head, leading the Secured Risk team to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at both the country and WRB Group levels in all aspects of risk management.
You will actively manage credit risk end-to-end in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, leveraging your credit risk experience, technical skills, and influencing abilities to manage portfolio risk and continuously evaluate emerging risks to protect the Bank, ensuring performance within established Risk Appetite. Responsibilities:
- Discharge the second line of defence duties for the secured portfolio, including review, oversight, and effective challenge (including proposing alternatives) of credit proposals from the First Line.
- Ensure alignment of the Risk Management strategy with WRB business strategy and risk appetite for the secured portfolio. Support the CRM Head and partner with key stakeholders in identifying target markets and setting risk acceptance policies to shape the secured portfolio, including managing credit concentration risk and the Bank’s risk-adjusted return.
- Oversee the credit risk environment of the secured portfolio, integrating credit risk management considerations in key decision points to achieve secured portfolio growth and Risk Appetite objectives.
- Proactively develop and deploy credit policy management to support and influence WRB Secured Business.
- Review and provide feedback to management to ensure the practicality and feasibility of implementing a robust credit policy.
- Monitor portfolio quality and ensure performance and losses are within expected thresholds by implementing appropriate credit/portfolio safeguards. Evaluate horizon risks, quantify impacts on vulnerable segments, and introduce credit changes to proactively manage the portfolio.
- Develop and maintain retail secured credit policies, ensuring adherence to group credit and regulatory guidelines. Ensure consistent application and adherence to credit policies and guidelines across cross-functional teams (Credit Initiation, Credit Operations, etc.)
Our Ideal Candidate
- 8 years or more of banking/banking-related experience, with a preference for candidates with consumer credit management experience covering retail secured products.
- Experience in Risk Management for Retail products and with analytics and SAS/SQL/Database Programming skills. Experience in Statistical Modelling/Scorecards/IRB Models is preferred.
- Expertise in process design and control.
- Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the firm operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
- Significant relationship management experience with external stakeholders at senior levels, including regulators and rating agencies.

- Substantial experience at the highest level in the banking industry, including demonstrated success in a similar role
- Risk Management and Control
- Demonstrated track record in successful management and ability to manage risk in geographically dispersed and highly varied product base. Expertise in process design and control.
- Regulatory Framework and Requirement
- Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the firm operates and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
- Ability to priorities multiple deliverables with demonstrable organizational, project management and time management skills.
- Well versed with various principle and other risk types, its implication of individual and business lending and for overall function.
