DESCRIPTION

Amazon Books team is looking for an experienced professional to help us continue to revolutionize how customers buy and read books. This Senior Program Manager will be responsible for driving vendor growth strategies, managing key initiatives, and identifying new market opportunities, especially in India and Australia. This person would also support some programs to drive vendor management in a scaled manner for long tail publishers across the globe.

You are an ideal candidate if you have strong analytical and program management skills; you are an excellent communicator who has managed external accounts or client relationships; you love to solve hard problems, and are fueled by a passion to deliver great results. You must be able to influence across multiple organizations, working in a global team and matrix structure with stakeholders across time-zones. You will review the business metrics on a weekly/monthly/quarterly basis to drive relevant actions to grow revenue and profits. You will manage existing relationships with publishers as well as internal stakeholders. You will be customer focused, entrepreneurial, and have demonstrated close engagement with cross-functional teams.

Key job responsibilities
– Drive end-to-end program management for strategic growth initiatives, including deal structure, performance tracking.
– Understand the requirements and pain points of vendors, and work with internal stakeholders to get those fixed in a systematic manner.
– Own key business metrics and create plan to achieve the goals on them
– Lead strategic operational planning for your business segments including creating and executing detailed program roadmaps, milestone tracking, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies.
– Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and leaders in the org – both locally and globally – to ensure a smooth business and finance operations for existing business.
– Analyze key performance metrics and provide data-driven recommendations for improvement.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 5+ years of program or project management experience
– Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
– Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
– 5+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
– 3+ years of managing/ selling to external stakeholders/clients, with proven track record of driving business growth through vendor partnerships
– Proficiency in English and Hindi languages due to work requirements
– Experience working in a matrix structure in a global environment
– Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
– Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) and SQL

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
– Master’s degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
– Experience in complex problem solving, and working in a tight schedule environment
– Strong understanding of e-commerce and marketplace dynamics,experience or strong passion for Books
