At Amazon we are building a world class last mile operation, significantly complimented by Amazon Flex. Amazon Flex works directly with independent contractors – called delivery partners – to make deliveries to our customers. With Amazon Flex, individuals can now be their own boss delivering Amazon packages. Amazon Flex is powered by a mobile app that works in concert with our advanced logistics systems that allows delivery partners to on board, schedule delivery times, guide them through their deliveries with in-app mapping and navigation, and more. The approach and technology are nothing short of disruptive, and promise to challenge traditional approaches, and change the way the industry operates.
We are seeking an experienced, passionate, dynamic, analytical, innovative, hands-on, and customer-obsessed Field Operations Manager in Singapore to help establish Amazon Flex as the preferred provider, help build our network of Delivery Partners and ensure that we are offering them the support to deliver on our customer promise. The successful applicant will work with functions that cut across the organization, including technology, operations, legal and customer service, to drive a great customer experience for our program. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in an exciting, fast growing last mile delivery operation.
This role is located in Singapore.
Key job responsibilities
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, passionate, highly analytical and detail-oriented, possess superior inter personal and communication skills, and be comfortable working alongside the Amazon Last mile teams to drive safety, quality and productivity in a fast-paced environment. A bias for action is an absolute must, and candidates must demonstrate a superior track record of delivering results.
Responsibilities Include:
• Continuously look for improvements to standardize and drive scalability in all Amazon Delivery Stations
• Launch new last mile products and features in collaboration with the Product/Tech teams and Amazon Transportation
• Ownership of driving under the roof and out on road metrics, including safety, productivity and quality.
• Be responsible for completing site audits, reviewing key operational processes & area readiness. This involves site visits across Singapore.
• Manage and coordinate large, complicated projects with multiple stakeholders including Product, Technology, Marketing, Shipping & Delivery Services, Legal, PR and Operations
• Accountability for meeting and showing willingness to exceed operational goals.
A day in the life
– Dedicate one day per week at the AMZL Delivery Station to engage with our Delivery Partners and colleagues.
– Dedicate two days per week to a thorough analysis of anecdotes and outliers.
– Dedicate one day per week to implement local and global initiatives.
– Dedicate one day per week to concentrate on quality metrics across Singapore’s business lines (AMZL+FRESH), serving as the primary contact for all global quality mechanisms and forums.
About the team
Close knit SG and AU based team focused on both Field Operations & Operational Excellence. Leaning into scaling and delivering best practice for a revolutionary last mile program!
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification
– 4+ years team leadership experience from a managerial position in the transportation delivery industry, last mile delivery, gig economy, or supply chain environment, within a fast-paced logistics environment
– Experience managing, negotiating, and communicating with internal/external business partners
– Experience implementing worldwide projects in a local environment & being able to innovate where worldwide does not fit locally
– Track record of successfully delivering quantifiable results
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Strong and effective communication skills
– Master’s degree/MBA in business
– A solid understanding of carrier operations, in a fast-paced setting
– Solid working knowledge of Lean techniques, such as Kaizen and/or Six Sigma methodologies
– Strong Excel and data analysis skills are required, along with demonstrated problem solving and analytical capabilities
– Track record of being highly organized, with ability to complete a high volume of tasks and projects with little or no guidance
– Demonstrated ability to manage detail, establish root cause, as well as being able to extract and manipulate data
