SAP Project Manager
The SAP Project Manager is responsible for managing and implementing SAP projects with quality, ensuring deliverables are on time, within scope, and conform to established processes and standards to meet customer requirements.
What will you do?
Project Delivery
- Establish and prepare project plans, risk management plans, project milestones, and deliverables in consultation with business users and architects/designers.
- Manage daily project implementation, including schedules, budget, manpower, and quality.
- Oversee scope definition and change control mechanisms.
- Analyse and document requirements by liaising with users and managers across the organisation.
- Escalate and discuss project overrun issues, scope creep, integration issues, and resource requirements with Project Director/Service Delivery Director.
- Manage integration of project components, including hardware, software installation, testing, business process review, redesign, application development, migration, and data conversion.
- Monitor project activities to ensure timely delivery, identify critical paths, and adjust schedules as needed.
- Manage resources (hardware, software, human resources, facilities, logistics) to ensure project completion within budget.
- Review project documentation for compliance with customer requirements and quality standards.
- Define project resources, conduct performance reviews, and manage post-implementation evaluations.
Customer/Vendor Management
- Negotiate with vendors and teams to secure necessary resources throughout project phases.
- Build relationships with users, technical staff, and management to resolve implementation issues.
- Manage contracts and subcontractors.
- Negotiate with customers on change requests, schedules, and prioritisation based on business needs.
- Communicate clearly and openly with customers regarding project issues or clarifications.
- Engage stakeholders in project decisions and execution.
- Build long-term customer relationships by anticipating and exceeding expectations.
Team Management
- Liaise with team members to ensure tasks and deliverables are on schedule.
- Plan, track, and monitor tasks assigned to team leaders/members.
- Delegate tasks effectively with clear instructions and goals.
- Provide leadership to ensure proposals/enhancements are fully analysed and evaluated.
- Share accurate information about business needs, priorities, and existing systems.
- Participate in leadership activities, providing performance feedback and developmental coaching.
- Monitor and improve team performance through leadership, coaching, and performance management.
Business Development
- Proactively identify opportunities for service expansion or improvement and liaise with Account Managers.
- Participate in pre-sale activities and lead key opportunities as needed.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Typically 5 years of SAP project management experience, with a minimum of 10 years in IT services.
- Experience in Singapore Public Sector SAP projects.
- Past experience in end-to-end SAP project implementation and SAP application support roles.
- Self-motivated with a positive “can-do” attitude; creative with excellent presentation, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, including strong persuasive techniques.
- Able to lead, develop, and maintain respectful and trusting relationships.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Able to travel as required.
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree.
