The Senior Application Engineer is responsible for leading software testing efforts to ensure applications function as per specifications and client requirements. This role involves test planning, execution, and reporting while adhering to established testing methodologies. The engineer will collaborate with project teams to analyze test results, resolve defects, and enhance test processes, including security and non-functional testing. Additionally, they will contribute to team development by sharing best practices, training others, and continuously improving testing standards. Strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and effective communication are key to success in this role.
What will you do?
Project Delivery
- Understand and analyze testing requirements to prepare test plans and designs.
- Advise project teams on design considerations and testing techniques.
- Prepare test environments and ensure readiness for test execution.
- Execute tests according to the test design and methodologies.
- Analyze test results and collaborate with teams to resolve defects and bottlenecks.
- Prepare and submit test reports while providing regular test result updates.
- Recommend and utilize automated testing tools where appropriate.
- Manage security testing and non-functional testing activities to meet project schedules.
Self / Team / Organization Development
- Adopt and enforce test standards and methodologies.
- Conduct training and create awareness on testing techniques and best practices.
- Share knowledge across teams to improve testing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Engage in self-directed learning and continuous professional development.
The ideal candidate should possess:
Education: Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management of Information Systems, or equivalent.
Experience: Typically, 5 years of IT/Testing experience with knowledge of test methodologies and various test tools.
Certifications:
- CREST Registered Penetration Tester (CRT) or
- Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP)
Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with testing methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Experience in security testing and non-functional testing.
- Knowledge of automated testing tools.
Soft Skills:
- Strong commitment to results and high-quality standards.
- Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude and high energy.
- Customer-focused mindset.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
