About the Role

We are seeking seasoned senior Digital Asset Risk professionals to lead and drive the risk management of our digital-asset and blockchain-enabled business. This team will work actively with various stakeholders of the Group in managing the various risks in this business.  The role is responsible for establishing and/or integrating digit-asset and blockchain risk considerations into our risk taxonomies, assessment methodologies, control standards, governance processes, and reporting frameworks, ensuring consistency with the OCBC’s broader risk management approach.

A core accountability of this role is to define, deliver and manage the OCBC’s digital asset risk appetite, translating strategic objectives and regulatory expectations into coherent risk appetite statements, quantitative limits, KRIs, and escalation thresholds that are aligned with enterprise risk principles.

Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure that digital‑asset risks are assessed, governed, and monitored using the same disciplined standards applied across OCBC, while appropriately reflecting the unique characteristics of digital-asset markets, custody models, and blockchain‑based technologies.

What You Do

Risk Governance & Frameworks

  • Establish risk appetite and KRIs for digital-asset activities; Establish and integrate digital-asset risk into the Risk Management Framework spanning market, liquidity, credit/counterparty, operational/technology, information security, custody/key management, third-party, compliance/AML/CTF/sanctions and conduct risks.

Risk Identification, Assessment & Monitoring

  • Coordinate and support risk assessments for new tokens, protocols, and counterparties; lead product risk reviews and risk assessments.

  • Work closely with business and functional stakeholders on understanding, identifying and managing the end-to-end risks from the digital assets business.

  • Design stress scenarios (e.g., extreme volatility, chain reorganizations, depeg events, protocol exploits, exchange insolvencies) and conduct impact analyses across P&L, liquidity, and operations.

  • Establish additional control requirements for digital-asset activities.

  • Design and lead RCSA (Risk Control Self-Assessment), control library, and risk registers for digital-asset related processes

Regulatory & Compliance Alignment

  • Monitor regulatory developments and ensure adherence to applicable standards

  • Coordinate responses to regulatory inquiries, thematic reviews, and internal/external audits; maintain evidence and documentation for governance forums.

Risk Reporting & Committees

  • Produce clear, data-driven risk MI and dashboards for senior management and Risk Committees; present emerging risks, trends, and remediation status.

  • Drive timely issue remediation and action tracking with control owners; facilitate effective challenge and independent oversight.

People Leadership & Influence

  • Develop programme to uplift risk teams on digital asset related activities

  • Provide proactive and constructive challenge to business leaders; influence decision-making with data and clear narratives.

Who You Are

  • Experience: 8–12+ years in risk management within financial services or crypto-native organizations, with at least 4–6 years directly covering digital-assets or blockchain-related products.  High energy, communicative and able to join the dots.

  • Technical & Domain Knowledge:

    • Deep understanding of crypto market structure (CeFi/DeFi), token economics, custody architectures, consensus mechanisms, and on-chain analytics.

    • Familiarity with crypto-specific risk events (depegs, oracle/manipulation risk, bridge exploits, MEV, smart contract vulnerabilities) and how they translate to financial/operational risk.

    • Hands-on with risk MI/analytics; comfortable with data tooling (Excel/BI; SQL/Python a plus).

  • Frameworks: Working knowledge of enterprise risk, operational risk, model risk, and information security frameworks; audit-ready documentation skills.

  • Communication: Executive-level stakeholder management; ability to synthesize complex topics into concise, decision-ready insights.

  • Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree and relevant certifications are advantageous.
